Adobe has recently introduced some seriously cool new features, ensuring Lightroom will remain the most important and widely used tool in the industry. Laptops are required as this is a hands on, fully interactive class. Students will follow along every step of the way over this two-day boot camp as Lightroom guru, Clifford Pickett, walks you through the entire LR6 interface, covering the essentials, workflow strategies, tips and tricks, importing, development, slideshows, printing, tethering, syncing, virtual copies, presets, targeted adjustments, noise, sharpness and everything in between. If you are serious about learning Lightroom, a first time user or an experienced veteran looking to harness the power of the new and improved LR6, this is the Workshop for you. It is important to know that LR6 is available as a free trial for 30 days and students are encouraged to take advantage of this. All of the topics covered on this Day One are required knowledge for Day Two of this two-day boot camp and will not be repeated on Day Two. Topics to be covered in this 6-hour Workshop: • An in-depth look and Q&A on all new Library Module features of Lightroom 6, to include, but not limited to: • Preference changes – open GL support, preview size options • Importing directly to collections and new collections filter • Flagging and rating metadata filters Other features to include: • Workflow – Making it work for you: How to organize your images and take back control; • Digital Asset Management; • Rating, key-wording, culling; • Importing images; • Color management and profiles; • Image throughput to Photoshop and back again; • Automating workflow with presets and beyond; and • How to quickly choose the best and forget the rest. Requirements: A laptop with LightroomCC or Lightroom 6 – even if it is a trial version. Please also bring an extra powerstrip for your laptop as well as the POWER CORD to your laptop as this is an ALL DAY Workshop – you will need to plug in. About the Instructor: Clifford Pickett is a professional travel photographer, commercial photographer & videographer, event photographer and educator. He is based in NYC but his work takes him around the globe. He first picked up a camera while spending a year traveling through Europe after having earned his MBA early. Like many travelers, that passion for seeing and experiencing the world is precisely what ignited the spark for photography. Clifford has since spent all of his time learning how to see and capture the world with what he refers to as "a new mind". He hasn't been shooting for 40 years, he hasn't been alive for 40 years. He hasn't been classically trained in the fine arts either. He is entirely self-taught, which has formed within him his greatest asset: the ability to relate to the amateur photographer. Leveraging both the business and photography skills he has developed and maintained for over a decade, he is the owner of several successful photographic enterprises and a corporate commercial video production company working with clients such as Estée Lauder, Sephora and Clinique.
